Jim has enjoyed much success in real estate, his community involvement, education and personal interests.  He continues to demonstrate a high level of ability.  He does this in a gentle, yet determined way.



Since 1978 Jim has been a full time Realtor in Charlottesville. From '83 to date he has been a multi-million dollar annual producer.  He was Associate of the Year in '83 and '89 for another firm and at Roy Wheeler Realty he's been recognized many times for his production.  Jim's greatest satisfaction is knowing that 80% of his business comes from clients using him again plus them referring family, friends and co-workers.



Jim is always eager to give back to the community.  He does this through many organizations.  During 16 years with the Red Cross he gave thousands of hours and dollars.  (In his lifetime, Jim has donated over 200 pints of blood.)  Three local environmental groups receive Jim's support.  Under-privileged youth in the community get Jim's time, attention and money.  His two favorite projects are introducing them to sports, mostly tennis, and his backpack program- annually buying 50 backpacks, stuffing them with school supplies and giving them to the kids as they start their first year of school.



With degrees from Dartmouth College and the Darden School at UVA, Jim showed the smarts and determination to succeed at the highest academic levels.



Jim's favorite activities are tennis, yoga, music (both listening and going out to experience it,) reading and listening to Dharma and doing crossword puzzles.  He has been on the same softball team since 1978!



Jim is active at the Insight Meditation Center of Charlotteville and attends Unity Church.



Caroline Watkins is assisting Jim in providing unparalleled service.  After graduating from UVa with a BA in Foreign Affairs and French, Caroline attended the National Outdoor Leadership School and traveled internationally.  She enthusiastically returned to Charlottesville in 1988 and launched a successful career as a residential Realtor.  She left real estate to start of a family in 1993 and run a small, family business.  During this time, she invested in and managed properties.  She has four children, all of whom have attended local, public schools, and she has wide array of connections in the area.  In joining Jim, she is renewing her passion for real estate while drawing upon her skills, including e-marketing, project management and client relationship building.  Her professionalism, integrity and attention to detail are hallmarks of her business ethos.
